Hello, I’ve been collecting Pokémon cards since 1999. I primarily collect vintage and mid-era cards. One of my hobbies is purchasing Pokémon cards that are in less than ideal condition and restoring them. I don’t recolor cards or use adhesives. I also do not polish cards unless requested. My goal is to restore the cards to their natural state as much as possible.
Types of card damage I restore.
- Creases
- Indentations
- Bends
- Surface grime removal
- Punctures
- Corner and edge lipping
- Corner separation
Note that not all types of damage can be reversed. The restoration process can visibly minimize the damage. Cards that have been damaged for decades are more difficult to restore.
Types of card damage I don’t restore.
- Whitening
- Deep holo scratching
- Crushed corners
- Crushed edges
